Sand cake with layers of pudding
Easy
Fairly cheap

Sand cake is one of the simplest cakes to prepare — it doesn't bake, it can't fail even if you're not good at sweets. Three layers of vanilla pudding: the first with ground biscuits, the second with coconut, the third with roasted walnuts and Nutella. A slight twist on the classic recipe, but it takes the cake to the next level.

Preparation takes an hour plus cooling — the pudding is cooked in milk, cooled, butter is added and divided into three parts. The stacking order is crucial: biscuit (firmest) goes on the bottom, then coconut, then walnut with Nutella (softest) on top. Decorate with whipped cream or sweet cream.

Ingredients

For 10 SERVING Serving size 1 piece = ~120 g

Ingredients for the Filling:

1 liter milk
3 packets vanilla pudding
200 grams sugar
250 grams butter (or margarine)
200 grams ground biscuits
150 grams coconut
200 grams ground roasted walnuts (or hazelnuts)
3 tablespoons Nutella (or other nougat cream)

For Decoration:

1 packet whipped cream powder
150 ml milk

Pesak torta Directions

    FILLING

    1. In 200 ml of milk, dissolve the pudding, and pour the rest of the milk with sugar into a pot and place on the heat until it boils.
    2. Remove from heat and cook the pudding by pouring it in a thin stream while constantly whisking.
    3. Cook on medium heat for a few minutes until the pudding thickens.
    4. Remove from heat, cover with plastic wrap.
    5. Leave at room temperature until the pudding is completely cooled.

  1. Tip: For faster cooling, it is recommended to immediately pour the cooked pudding into another glass bowl, cover with foil, and place the bowl in cold water.
First, beat the cooled pudding with a mixer until completely smooth, then add softened butter at room temperature in batches and mix well with the mixer into a smooth and fluffy cream.
Now divide this cream into 3 equal parts. Mix ground biscuits into the first part. Mix coconut into the second part, and into the third part mix ground roasted walnuts and 3 tablespoons of Nutella.
  2. Note: The biscuit filling will be the firmest as it is the base of the cake, the coconut filling will be slightly softer, and the walnut filling will be the softest due to the addition of Nutella. Therefore, it is important not to change the order of layering the fillings.

  3. ASSEMBLING THE CAKE

    1. Place a ring (or adjustable frame) with a diameter of 24 cm on a suitable plate or tray, and line the inside with acetate foil for easier removal.
    2. First, spread the biscuit filling on the bottom of the plate and level it evenly everywhere. Then comes the coconut filling, which you also level.
    3. Cut it with a round pizza cutter into strips. Finally, spread the dark walnut and Nutella filling, level it, and place the cake in the refrigerator for several hours, preferably overnight, to cool and set well.
    4. Remove the ring from the cake and decorate it as desired with whipped cream whipped with milk according to the instructions on the packet. Instead of whipped cream, you can also use sweet cream (200 ml).
